Restoration--The Reversal of Loss

We spent the morning doing some (belated) spring cleaning in our church. A majority of things were taken to the dump, and I let many things be thrown away that I could have kept with the greediness of the pack-rat I've always been. In the end, I saved two pictures of sailing ships and two small trinket-like toys--one of Tigger, and one of a gnome-boy. I tossed a 50's fan (it would have made a cool movie prop) and saw (after rescuing the two toys) a third toy--a miniature Flounder--fall into the garbage crusher. Not all things can be rescued.
But not all things are lost, either. What started this blog was the loss of my computer's memory. I submitted my computer to a friend so that he could repair what could be repaired, and I was quite happy to get it back today: The majority of everything I thought I'd lost has been recovered. Many of the files are somewhat incomplete, but I've received back many works that I thought I would never see again. Loss is never the final word, it seems.
