To keep things inside is to bury them, and all things buried are normally dead things. If it is worth being allowed to live, then it is worth sharing.
It makes me think of what Jesus said about the demons in the house-that you have to have someone else occupy the house when you kick them out or else they'll just come back and bring more friends and you'll be worse off than before.
