Pluot

I ran across an interesting fruit today. It's a criss-cross: a mix of apricot and plum. Its name makes me giggle: Pluot.
Now sold at your nearest "Crojere" museum (The curator's name is actually spelled with a K and a G.)

I too have recently discovered the Pluot, but I uncovered the existence of the pluot in bulk at Sam's Club. Everything is way cooler in bulk - even the pluot. I'm tempted to try the pluot, but I fear my body may experience some strange mutation from eating a fruit not naturally occurring in nature. Any thoughts on this?

Let me add...wouldn't plumcot be a much cooler name for an plum-apricot? Or maybe it should be a aprum if it's a apricot-plum? Who gets the privelege of picking the fruit's name? What a huge responsibility!
