Getting down to it:

Pruning branches
doesn't fix bad roots.

But...it is so much "easier" to prune branches than it is to dig up roots.

Nonetheless, continually pruning branches that stem from bad roots eventually reduces a tree to nothing more than dead, smelly, and ugly rotting roots.

However, while digging up roots may require more work at first, once a new seed is planted, instead of a dead rotting stump, a beautiful luscious tree will flourish.

True clean-up is hard work, but well worth it in the end.
